For small builders and developers looking for sites in the Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council area. We refresh council planning data for Solihull every Monday.
Solihull withdrew its 2020 draft Local Plan in October 2024 and started again, with a call for sites from November 2024 to February 2025. In September 2026 the Cabinet was asked to endorse a Draft Submission Plan for consultation, with submission for examination planned by 31 December 2026. That means site promotion in the borough is active, and landowners who submitted land are weighing their options.
Much of the borough outside the urban area is Green Belt, including the Meriden Gap, so many smaller opportunities are infill, brownfield or edge-of-settlement plots where grey belt policy may be relevant. Solihull publishes a brownfield land register, and Part 2 of a register is where a council can grant permission in principle for housing. Places we look at include Shirley, Dorridge, Knowle, Balsall Common, Meriden and Hockley Heath.

Counts only; figures depend on what each council publishes and may lag the council’s own records.
Register your brief and we match it against our weekly council data and desk checks. If we find a site that fits and the owner agrees, we introduce you under written builder terms. You can also commission a land search or set up Site Alerts.
Tell us your brief: area, site size, number of homes, planning status and budget.
